Project-specific certification route

UN Packaging Certification Project Support

Essencia Pack can evaluate a UN packaging development and certification programme when the selected container, closure, filled product and transport route require it.

Selection logic

Define the complete packaging system before testing

  1. Confirm the filled product and dangerous-goods classification
  2. Select the container, closure, liner and outer packaging
  3. Identify target market and transport mode
  4. Agree the test programme, documentation, timing and fees
  5. Test the complete approved configuration

Important boundaries

Confirm suitability before commercial use

01

Standard models are not automatically UN certified

02

Certification does not transfer between unapproved closures or pack configurations

03

Testing scope, timing and fees are confirmed per project

Technical answers

Frequently asked questions

Are all Essencia containers UN certified?

No. UN certification is not implied for standard models. It is evaluated for a defined container, closure, filled product, test level and transport requirement.

Can an existing mould be used for a UN packaging project?

Potentially. The model and closure must first be reviewed against the intended test programme. Existing mould status alone does not establish certification.

What information is needed to scope certification?

Provide the product classification, density, packaging group where applicable, fill volume, closure, destination markets, transport modes and expected order programme.

Are certification costs included in a standard container price?

No. Laboratory testing, documentation and certification work are normally scoped and charged separately.
